The process from start to finish

1. What is the process from start to finish (in brief)?
2. How many sample tiles can and colour chips can I order?
3. What should I do when I receive the sample tiles and colour chips?
4. When I know which colours I want to use, what is the next step?
5. How long does it take to make a layout design?
6. What happens when the layout design is finalized?
7. How long does production and delivery take?

1. What is the process from start to finish (in brief)?

To achieve a bespoke ceramic tile installation for your restaurant, kitchen, café, bathroom, hotel, hallway, etc., this is the process in brief:
1 Find inspiration for your ceramic tile installation on our website, Pinterest or Instagram
2 Order sample tiles and colour chips.
3 Review the samples and tell us what you want in your installation.
4 We create a bespoke layout design proposal for you, to your dimensions.
5 With your feedback we perfect the design.
6 Place your order with us and the tiles are then scheduled in for production.

2. How many sample tiles and colour chips can I order?

Normally we send two screen-printed tiles and up to nine screen-print colour chips. For Relief tiles we send two tiles and up to five solid glaze colour chips. There are many thousands of tiles possible, so we send representative tiles rather than specific tiles in specific colours, but we match them as closely to your wishes as possible.

3. What should I do when I receive the sample tiles and colour chips?

Once you receive the sample pack, choose a selection of colours that you would like to work with. If possible, take the sample pack to the room where the tiles will be installed to make your selection. Choose colours that will work well together (we’re happy to advise). Normally, three or four screen-print colours is optimal though more is possible.
Remember: screen-printed tiles allow you to have various colours within one installation. For Relief tiles, it’s different. We can’t screen-print on them so there is a different colour card. There is a minimum of 3m2 / 33sf / 150 tiles per colour.

4. When I know which colours I want to use, what is the next step?

When you know the colours you want to use for your tile installation, let us know three things: your choice of colours; your inspiration; the dimensions.
Your inspiration is the starting point for your tile installation. This might be one of our designs, an installation image or something you have seen on Instagram or Pinterest. The inspiration is the starting point for your bespoke installation design and we adapt this to your wishes. Once we have this information, we’ll start work on your layout design.

5. How long does the design process take?

It depends on how many proposals are required. The first proposal usually takes a few days. We always create something that we would be proud of and we discuss each design internally. Then we wait for your feedback Sometimes just one or two iterations are needed and sometimes five or six. Taking two to three days between each proposal as a guide, then some designs are ready within one week and some take three weeks.

6. What happens when the layout design is finalized?

When the layout design is finalized, we ask for a transport quote from various couriers. We tell you the cost of the cheapest quote and then we prepare a draft invoice for you to check. Once you are happy with the draft invoice, we issue the final invoice. On payment of the final invoice, we confirm the order at the factory and it will be scheduled in for production.

7. How long does production and delivery take?

Production usually takes between four to six weeks. There are times when it can be a little quicker and times when it can be a little slower. In particular, the two-week holidays in the second half of August and at the end of December will impact production times. Once the tiles are ready, the courier is notified to collect them. This usually happens within two days but can take a little longer. From then, delivery is typically 7-10 days.
