Squared
Bold geometry often means larger shapes but it is also rewarding to work with a smaller repeating patterns. The classic chequerboard, beloved of castles and bathrooms everywhere, was a starting point for this design, but the end result is more playful, almost like a genetically-tweaked Dalmatian dog.

Designs using Squared tiles
Picture a sound wave uses our S1 and S2 Squared tiles with the SR1 tile from the Sunrise collection. They overlay each other with unusual, rhythmic results and working out how the three colours on each tile are created from two screen prints is not always simple. See for yourself!
This design, The king and the grain of rice, is a reworking of the classic chessboard design. Tiles S1 and S2 in a single colour offer a striking update to this motif.
